Hi friends and thank you for joining me for another fun peek into a favorite corner of home. I first met today’s guest via her laundry room makeover and have enjoyed her design projects ever since!
I’m so happy that Lisa asked me to share a space in my home for her Shine Home Love series! I first met her when I participated in the Spring 2015 One Room Challenge. At that time, my blog was less than a month old and I felt pretty lonely writing posts for my sister and a handful of friends. Lisa was so kind and welcoming, leaving comments on my blog and lending support when I thought I’d never finish stenciling my laundry room. I always tell people the best part of blogging are the wonderful women I’ve (virtually) met!
The first room I posted about on my baby blog was our home office, or the Ladies’ Lounge as we like to call it. It’s my favorite room in the house because it’s the only one with southern exposure, so the light is beautiful all day long!
I use this room as my office and blogging headquarters. We recently had the room painted white (it used to be blue). I find it easier to work on decorating projects now that the room is more subdued.
This is where the magic happens. I’ve had that lamp for several years now and I love it just as much as the day I brought it home. It reminds me of a robin’s egg and adds some color and texture to my work space. And, yes, my desk is always this clean. I like to take “neat and tidy” to the next level.
The swivel chairs are custom-upholstered in fabric that hides dog hair. Shorty, our precious tater-tot of a dog, claimed the chair on the right immediately after delivery. You can find him in that same spot everyday, acting as my assistant.
This is the only room where I can successfully grow a fiddle leaf fig. The one in the living room is dropping leaves like it’s trying out for Charlie Brown Christmas Tree 2.0. I’ve even managed to primary orchid growing due to the exceptional light. Behold, my real, not-dead-like-usual orchid!
We also use this room for television viewing, and I’m getting excited about next week’s premier of the RHoDallas! Please don’t judge. It’s basically wrestling for ladies, which I loved when I was younger. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage, remember? Anyone???
We love spending time in here and even though it’s not a large room, you can often find all 4 of us (and Shorty) hanging out in here, soaking up the southern exposure. Thanks so much for letting me share my Ladies’ Lounge with your readers today, Lisa!
A ladies lounge….yep I’m gonna need one of those too (the problem with hosting this series – I keep discovering rooms that I must have. Now I need a ladies’ lounge!) Love all the natural light and the color palette has my neutral loving heart skipping a beat!
Thanks for sharing your favorite corner of home Sharon!!
