Since we use our casual dining room for all our meals, in our kitchen I made this spot that is typically for a table and chairs into a little sitting area that we really enjoy!
I stole these chairs from our dining table and they fit perfectly.
Our family and anyone who walks through our door gravitates right to this little spot! It’s perfect for morning coffee, happy hour and everything in between!
Since we did our kitchen over in the spring of 2019, we now have seating at the counter so this simple little area can fit 6 which is great for entertaining. I also love that I don’t have everyone hanging out in my workspace when I am cooking and trying to get food on the table!

Before the renovation we had room for a little coffee table. I get asked about my source for this wicker trunk frequently.
It’s (also!) from Ikea but unfortunately it’s been discontinued. Here are a few other options of similar wicker trunks (sadly, without the Ikea price tag!) Click on the picture to take you to that link.
The blue pillow cases above are from Ikea and the large canvas art is a DIY from a photo I took with my phone, you can find the tutorial here!
