Tried and True Breakfast & Brunch Recipes

Hi friends, hope you had a fun weekend of decking the halls and making merry!

Are you hosting family or friends overnight this holiday season? Perhaps getting your friends together for a Christmas brunch? If so, I’ve got some great recipes to send your way.

Every Monday, new momma and chef-in-training Kristin of Delightfully Dowling and I host the Mangia Mondays blog hop to share recipes, helpful tips for the kitchen, or anything else having to do with eating, drinking and enjoying the culinary delights of life.
In November I gave you a roundup of my favorite, tried-and-true recipes:
With Christmas fast approaching, today I thought I’d list some resources for great breakfast and brunch recipes that my family loves. I love breakfast food – don’t you?
My very favorite thing about hosting a brunch is how easy it is to please a crowd with a big ol’ pot of coffee and a gorgeous fruit platter. Throw a pre-made casserole in the oven and you’ve got an easy meal that serves plenty!
Here are some ideas for satisfying and special breakfasts or brunches this Christmas season, and all through the year.
Bacon and Leek Quiche @ Williams Sonoma
Cinnamon Honey Butter @ Fly Through Our Window (you’ll be hearing more about this from me soon. Trust me – you need to make it!)
Cinnamon Rolls @ The Pioneer Woman
Eggs Benedict @ Martha Stewart (I cheat and use the Knorr Hollandaise sauce packet. Shhhh.)
Gentleman’s Casserole @ Southern Living (I made these for the last two Christmases! So good.)
Irish Bread (my mother’s recipe) @ SYL
Monkey Bread @ SYL (a kid pleaser!!)
Oh! Let’s not forget….last but not least….as my friend Jackie says, it’s uncivilized to not serve your guests a beverage!
The key to a successful, well-rounded breakfast or brunch for a crowd:  make sure to serve a carb, plenty of fruit, and a meat or fish (bacon, sausage, ham, salmon, crabcakes….) – some naughty balanced out by some healthy options.
I have a great breakfast that the kiddos think is fun to share with you soon. Like our 5 minute ice cream, it involves baggies and that’s all I’m sayin’!

Also, since our Christmas morning tradition is chocolate croissants, I am obliged to tell you that last year we discovered Trader Joe’s AMAZING chocolate croissants. They come frozen and must be taken out the night before in order to rise properly before baking. If you have a TJs near you, I highly recommend them to snack on with your coffee whilst the littles open gifts on Christmas morn!
Kristin and I invite you to join in the Mangia Mondays fun today! Link up or share in comments. If you link a post to MM, please remember to link back to either Delightfully Dowling or here at Shine Your Light, or post a Mangia Mondays button in your post. Thanks so much!
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

I have a feeling people fail to mention how great it is because it is from Taco Bell' and so it's automatically bad..
