hellllllllo lovelies!
How about this for just about the easiest craft ever?
If you consider yourself a bit on the un-crafty side,
this one is for you.
Just drink a bottle or five of vino, save the corks and write the names of your herbs on them with a Sharpie, then push wooden or metal skewers* and…….
VOILA!
you have fun herb makers!
My basil is trying to take over this little section of the deck. I can’t wait to make some pesto when this gets a bit bigger.
See my updated post about wine cork herb markers here!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

I did this last March when we planted the herb garden out back. The sharpie fades away realy bad so I had no idea what was in some of the spots. I am considering hitting them with a shot of clear paint this year. Also if you have dogs, they seem to think that this is a toy.

Love, love!!! Totally recreating this. Bless you!
I like the idea of covering with a clear coat to lengthen their lives …

Hi! Did you have a problem getting the Sharpies to write on the corks? It’s like the cork keeps sucking all the moisture out of my Sharpies, and drying them right up (before I can even finish “Basil”). Love these, though, really want to make a bunch!
Lisa says
Hi Julie! I haven’t had that problem….I wonder what it could be! I have made them every year for 4 or 5 years and use wine corks that I’ve saved. Maybe my red wine has some kind of chemical effect on the cork that makes it easier to write on?!
Julie S. says
Thank you for the response! I tried a few different cork, time to try a few brand new Sharpies. Maybe mine were just nearing the end of their lives.
Julie S. says
^^ “corks” not “cork” π
Lisa says
Julie I hope it works for you! I just scribbled on a cork (happened to have one handy!) with my regular old fine point black Sharpie marker and it worked fine….but the Sharpie IS new so maybe that is the problem for you. Good luck! #craftersproblems π
