Hello Monday! You snuck right up on us!Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! We had a couple 50 degree days here in Massachusetts and almost every speck of snow melted, so I am making believe spring is almost here 🙂As you may have noticed, Shine Your Light is sporting a new design for the new year! Now that all the dust has settled, I wanted to take a minute to show you around so you can easily find what you’re looking for (if you’re short on time and have already checked out my new digs, scroll down to the end of the post and do me a huge favor – thank you so, so much!)
The homepage of the blog looks like this, with a link to the newest post at the very top.
You can click on the title to take you to that post.
Wherever you are on the blog, if you click the Shine Your Light header image, it will take you back to the homepage (that’s true on all blogs FYI).
Scroll down on the homepage and you’ll see a few different categories to check out.
If you’re looking for an item that you saw in our house, you can scroll through this lookbook – clicking on the photo will take you straight to that item.
Shine Your Light also has a shop on Amazon with many of the tools I use and items mentioned in projects. These are affiliate links which means I make a small commission from sales generated from links on my blog, at no cost to the consumer. I love my readers and ONLY share affiliate links to products that I use myself and would recommend to my mom or best friends. I am a consumer too and like to get recommendations from trusted sources, so please know that I take your trust of any product recommendations you read about here to heart.
Continuing the tour…..if you’re looking for a specific project or post, there’s a search box on the very bottom of the homepage.
In the navigation bar at the top of the homepage is a GALLERY link that will take you to this……
Clicking on any of those categories will take you to a collection of posts and projects.
There are still a few more tweaks to be made, including before and afters room by room, but my hope is that this redesign will make navigating Shine Your Light a more user friendly for you!
Now here’s where I need your help,
my sweet and wonderful readers!!!
In March this little slice of the internet will turn EIGHT. I can hardly believe it! In that time I’ve covered lots of different topics about house and home. Today I want to hear from YOU about what you like to read about here, and what you don’t!!
UPDATE – this survey is closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to give me your feedback!
I am so grateful for your visits to Shine Your Light and am looking forward a fun year ahead here with you!
Tomorrow, a long overdue update on Sean’s Rugged & Refined Teen Room Makeover, pinky swear!!

Love the new look of your blog! FYI, I’m looking for the “shop our home” and not finding it and when I click on the product photos shown, nothing happens. The script font on the gallery is a bit hard to read as well. The layout is absolutely beautiful!

Thank you for your kind words Laurie! I so appreciate you stopping by. I fixed the Shop Our Home links and they should be in working order again!

Your whole blog looks beautiful, Lisa! Congrats on 8 years! I don’t think there was a year when I was looking more forward to spring…but I am afraid winter isn’t over yet. We’ve had some huge snows in March – and even April! My kids are hoping for some good ski days though. The season in VT started out strong, then got super cold and now it hasn’t snowed that much. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Shelley! Thank you as always for your kind words. We have both been blogging for a long time haven’t we? Our kids have grown so much while we’ve been at this. We haven’t skiied in VT yet as a family this year, but hope to get up there soon. My son is loving it – whenever the weather looks halfway decent a bunch of kids will drive over and do a half day on the mountain. Personally I wouldn’t mind a little calypso in the Caribbean right about now…..:)
