It’s week two of the One Room Challenge,
and I think we’ve got the moody part of my son’s
MOODY – MASCULINE – MIGHTY
bedroom refresh down!!
This desk was going to get replaced with an industrial/rustic/built in design I have in my head,
but I don’t know now – I’m kind of loving this warm wood with the black and white!
There are some other developments going down this week but I don’t want to give away too much just yet!!!! What fun would that be?
(Maybe I should add MYSTERIOUS to this ORC room makeover mission.)
Beyond paint, here is the plan:
1 // Change out the tall dresser for a shorter & longer one
(that is currently residing at my mom’s house and in need of a major makeover)
2 // A DIY Headboard.
3 // Build shelves for storage and photo/art display.
4 // Address the lighting.
5 // Figure out the desk area.
6 // The big surprise art project.
7 // New bedding.
8 // And hopefully by November 12, a happy client!
Don’t miss all the other ORC updates today at Calling It Home
– I can’t wait to see them all!
You can do it, fellow Challengers!!!!!

Sometimes I have to tell my family to trust the process – don't make a judgement until it's all put together. Ha!! I'm glad your powers of persuasion were strong – it looks awesome!! And I really love the wood and black together! Love the mystery and I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see more!!

Good job convincing your son, Lisa. The black looks amazing and he'll probably love the end result. I like the wood with the black walls, too.

I just told the kids Peter's bedroom walls are black…tim replied," what? Peter is going goth?" I think Tim needs more of your persuasion! Can't wait to see the final product 🙂

Hey Lisa, Wow I'm loving the dramatic look of the black painted walls next to the chalkboard painted one! It's a bold move, but so worth it when you have some great art work, which is going to be fab! Wow, you have a major DIY to do list, love it! I agree with you that the wooden desk is a great contrast to the black walls. I say keep it as is and if it doesn't fit with the dresser and headboard when you have it all in the space then decide to paint it. Excited to hear about your surprises! Let's do this! XOXO, Saarah
