My other favorite DIY projects of the this year include adding the seagrass runner to our foyer stairs…..
But forget about my projects, I can’t even get OVER all the amazing DIYs I saw around the blogosphere this year!! Here are some that caught my eye in 2013.
First up, the Grand Truss Table and Benches by Korrie at Red Hen Home – I want to have her mad carpentry skills when I grow up! She built this table and bench, along with (what was the last count Korrie?) 7+ other dining tables this year – along with tons of other furniture and signs (and did I mention she is mom to 6 kids??)
Let’s talk about Pam at Simple Details. First the DIY awning……
What about this fireplace makeover by Jenny at Evolution of Style?????? What WHAT????????? Yes – that stonework was a DIY!
Carolyn at Sweet Chaos Home planked the walls of her kids’ bathroom when she renovated the space, and the outcome has me desperately wanting to plank a room in my house. Check out this before and after!
Nancy of the Powell Brower At Home duo installed this nailhead trim detail to her walls. I love this detail! Wouldn’t it would look ahhhhmazing in a library or teen boys’ room???
The kitchen renovation by Cassie of Primitive and Proper shows just how powerful paint really is! After a contractor opened up the space between their kitchen and dining room, Cassie’s neighbor installed butcher block counters and Cassie painted the cabinets this gorgeous inky blue. Check out the before here!
Tiffany at Worthwhile Domicile shared a bathroom renovation. I love her taste and the gorgeous materials she uses for her renovations! Girl knows how to do it RIGHT!
The dining room of Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles is filled with DIYs, from the refinished table, to the curtains, host chairs, nailhead trim on the side chairs, and emerald green-painted hutch.
There are so many more fabulous projects that caught my eye this year, thank goodness for Pinterest so I can hoard them all!!!! I could go on and on – there are at least 10 other bloggers’ projects that blew me away this year. Clearly I need to start shining a light on amazing projects from around the blogosphere on a regular basis – I have been so inspired this year to try a new-to-me DIY project or consider a new decorating style (who would’ve ever thought ANTLERS would become the chic must-have home accessory? and PS I still don’t have them. I’m so out, I’m in!) Look for a new series featuring amazingness from around the blog world in 2014.
It’s been a fun year in the blogosphere and I hope you have found some things that inspired you too!
Thank you for popping by here for a visit from time to time, I have loved getting to know you and building a community here!
From my family to yours, best wishes for a healthy and joy-filled year ahead!!!!!

Fantastic projects, yours and all of those featured! The kids grow up too fast, you are so right to enjoy the time you have with them. While they will eventually fly the coop, the nest will still be there, and you will then have plenty of time for those renovations! LOL Happy New Year!!

You were a busy girl this year!! I missed your post about your bedroom paint color – so glad I saw it because I've decided that I'm going with navy in mine and I will add your paint color to my pile of paint chips to decide between! Also love the posts you chose from the rest of the blogosphere – many of those were among my favorites too and some were new to me. Happy new year Lisa!!
