Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead.
Thanks for joining me for Mangia Mondays, the weekly blog hop I co-host with my beautiful friend Kristin, who hails from the blog Delightfully Dowling. We’re so inspired week after week with all the yummy things you whip up and hope you’ll join in the fun today and share a post about a recipe, a kitchen tip or this week, maybe a fabulous gift idea for Mom??
If you find yourself hosting a family get-together for Mother’s Day, consider a brunch. Easy on the hostess, since many brunch foods can be made ahead, and appealing to the masses (who doesn’t like breakfast food??) I present to you:
A Mother’s Day Brunch Menu
(The items in bold are links to those recipes.)
Baked Ham
White Sangria
Have fun with your brunch table – it doesn’t have to be costly. Shop your house and bring pretty to your table with small arrangements of flowers and candlelight (yes, even for brunch). My local Whole Foods has beautiful ranunculus in right now, or use inexpensive carnations to fill up a bunch of small vessels like creamers, juice glasses or even votives with the blossoms and spread them down the length of your table.
Are you lucky enough to have some gorgeous blossoms blooming in your garden already this spring? If so bring a few inside for your table. {I cannot wait for my peonies to bloom this year!}
The feminine paper doily as a place card is perfect for Mother’s Day, isn’t it?
Ikea sells these 9″ glass dinnerplates for $.99. They’d make a great charger if you are using salad-sized plates for a brunch buffet.
And how about some music for the occassion? (Or burn Mom a CD that she can listen to in her car or upload to her computer.)
Here are a few recommendations for a
Mother’s Day Playlist
Over the course of this week I’ll be sharing more interviews from inspiring moms in honor of Mother’s Day. Join me in reading about motherhood from lots of different perspectives to celebrate those who mothered us, and those of us who mother!
Today you’re invited to link up to the Mangia Mondays blog hop and check out the deliciousness shared from all over the blogosphere!
