Helloooooo long lost friends!!
It’s been awhile and yes, I did fall off the end of the earth! No, my One Room Challenge Coastal Bathroom Makeover isn’t 100% done, and no, my $100 Room Challenge Mudroom Makeover isn’t officially done!
This has been a wild and crazy month and it’s actually kind of amusing to me now that I piggybacked not one, but TWO kind of major DIY room renos in my own house on the cusp of the craziest month EVER in our family and for this mother!!
First off, my beautiful niece and her longtime love got engaged,
….twenty years after she was the flower girl in our wedding (our 20th anniversary was May 17!)
My honey had a birthday (some addition was required for the candles on his cake 🙂 )….
Peter and his girlfriend went to his school’s prom (the third prom for our family this year!)….
My baby turned FIFTEEN (not even possible)…..
Peter had his very last baseball game after a “career” that began with t-ball in kindergarten and included a traveling club team for 6 years…..a huge part of his (and our!) life!……
In a heartbeat the end of senior year came all too fast!
Baccalaureate mass……
And just like that……our first love and light of our lives, all grown up!
Kids we’ve known and loved since they were itty bitty, all graduating and heading off to college this August!
To top it off, my baby girl turns SEVENTEEN tomorrow!
In the midst of all this lovefest our plumbing has gone BONKERS, the mudroom sink pipes are all corroded and leaking, a pipe burst in our garage, I tried to change a faucet in our kids’ bathroom and flooded our kitchen below, you know, all the REAL LIFE that happens no matter what else you have going on!
I’m all teary and emotional and happy and sad and grateful and have eaten cake pretty much every day of May and am basically just a lunatic, so forgive me for my radio silence on the blog while life’s been one big party over here. I love and miss you guys and can’t wait to get back to things I can control, unlike my babies all growing up, like ripping apart rooms and putting them back together.
Come on by on Wednesday for June’s My Five Favorites, and keep an eye out for the bathroom reveal at the end of the week! I can’t wait to show you how it all came together!
I hope life’s been good to you too lately!! Thank you for checking in and stopping by this month!

Isn’t that the way it always goes….nothing for months and then bam! That’s the way our lives have been since March!! Here’s hoping we both can get back to some sense of normalcy and enjoy the summer months!!
Lisa says
Yes, that does seem to be how it goes Lauren! Hoping for life to slow down a bit for you too!

Special congratulations on Peter’s graduation! That’s huge, and I can only imagine the parental feelings that arise when your firstborn is off to college. Hang in there with the house stuff. So happy you’re back! 🙂

Hey Lisa….you forgot that you helped out your friend by measuring, shopping and installing blinds in a much needed room, volunteered to be their photographer on a very important day and have offered continual support for all that need it. I can’t imagine on top of everything else why your bathroom isn’t 100% completed. Here’s to the new month of June, where we can celebrate you on your bday.
Lisa says
Thank you my beautiful friend!! XOXOX

It looks like you are in the same stage of life I am right now 🙂 Having that first graduation….you summed up the emotions well. And your “baby’s” cake looked DELICIOUS..
