Hello friends and welcome to the December My Five Favorites series with Jennifer from Dimples & Tangles, Kris from Driven by Decor, Pam from Simple Details and yours truly. This month we thought we’d share gift guides focusing on what we ourselves would love to receive, in case you’re in the market for gifts for the best ladies in your life.
It was so much fun making our lists and checking them twice that we decided to supersize them today!
We’re thrilled to be joined by Courtney of A Thoughtful Place, designer and entertainer extraordinaire!
Courtney always has tons of ideas to make life beautiful and we’re so happy she is guest hosting with us to share her holiday wish list too! Be sure to pay her a visit and check out her favorites.
I tried to mix up this list and give you a bit of this and that. Here are a few lovely things it wouldn’t kill me to own, and maybe you’d enjoy one or two of these as well 🙂
Affliliate links included for your convenience.
• ONE •
In The Company of Women: Inspiration and Advice From Over 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs by Grace Bonney of Design*Sponge ($20)
Design and bad a$$ successful women. I need this book.
• TWO •
Rose Gold Tassel Necklace ($30+)
This Etsy shop is owned by a wonderful local jewelry maker, Marcia, from whom I’ve bought a few gifts over the years. Most of the jewelry is inexpensive and fun and I love all the rose gold pieces she currently has!
• THREE •
Leather Wrap Bracelet ($24)
Perfect for your friend or sister because it’s always fun to get some new baubles isn’t it?
• FOUR •
Cashmere Waterfall Cardigan ($80) – updated for 2017 and similar to what’s pictured!
A cashmere cardi is a must for us cold-weather girls and this one has a pretty drape.
• FIVE •
Sorel Joan of Arctic Boots (updated for 2017 – grey is on on sale for $135)
I’m desperately hoping Santa leaves these under the tree this year! I hear from everyone that they are super warm, and look so cute with jeans. I’m afraid my daughter will be stealing them from me left and right. >>>>Santa was good to me and left these under the tree last year, and I love them as much as I hoped I would! They are so warm and cute!
• SIX •
Luxe Faux Fur Taupe Leopard Throw (2017: throws and blankets on sale starting at $33!)
So pretty and cozy!
• SEVEN •
Monogrammed Overnight Bag (2017: on sale for 42.50!)
So many cute patterns and styles of bags to choose from in this Etsy shop!
• EIGHT •
Everlane Twill Weekend Bag ($98)
A good black bag is like the LBD – so versatile. Love that this bag is lightweight canvas but also waterproof, and it gets good reviews for durability.
• NINE •
Kate Spade Nylon Leopard Lyla Weekender Bag (2017: on final sale for $164!)
Can you tell I’m in the market for a chic, sturdy overnight bag? This one is a bit of a splurge but it’s the kind of thing you’d have for years. There’s a black and white stripe and solid black version too!
• TEN •
Palm Clutch Cosmetic Bag with Monogram ($28)
Perfect for holding your important things like sunnies and Burts Bees in your car or bag!
• ELEVEN •
Brass Geo Terrarium ($20-40)
Include some soil or rocks and a few cute succulents and this would make a fun little project for the recipient. Read my quick tutorial on how to put together your own terrarium here!
• TWELVE •
Felted Soap ($10.75)
I just ordered myself one of these as an early Christmas present! The felt is naturally anti-microbial, and the soap lasts much longer but lathers really well with the wool casing. When the soap runs out, you can make a hole in the felt and put a new bar inside; the felt heals itself when used. Plus they are so pretty aren’t they?!
• THIRTEEN •
Meet Me There Study 2 by Renee Ann ($23+)
I’m obsessed with Minted’s selection of prints!
• FOURTEEN •
Cloudy Landscape by Agnes Szlapka ($23+)
I mean who wouldn’t love a pretty landscape??
Check out the beautiful watercolor landscape I put in our newly remodeled bathroom, here!
• FIFTEEN •
Shearling Socks ($20+)
I saved my very favorite for last!! My son gave me these last year (he went shopping with his girlfriend and they did a great job!….thanks Peter and Caroline!) Honestly these socks are amazing! I wear them all the time over my skinny jeans in the winter when we’re at home reading the Sunday paper and having a fire, they are SO COZY, COMFY and CUTE! I think they’d be too thick to wear with boots, but are perfect to curl up on the couch in.
Peter found them at Marshalls – I haven’t seen them there since but located them online for you (see the link above)!
I hope this little list gives you some ideas for your fave ladies! Hop over to check out what my co-hosts are dreaming of!

I definitely looking into those cozy socks (as I sit here typing with cold feet!), and I love the idea of keeping a little clutch for all of those random little items in the car! *Why didn’t I think of that* These are all so fun, Lisa, hope Santa comes through with your boots!
Lisa says
My current bag doesn’t have any pockets inside which makes me crazy, so cosmetic bags to the rescue! Loved your list today Jennifer, I knew you’d have some cute things to add to my wish list!
Shelley @ Calypso in the Country says
Love your list, Lisa! Those Sorel boots are on my list too but I can’t decide on the color!

I know Shelley – I labored over that but always gravitate to black everything. I love the brown fur with the black! Hope Santa brings you some!
Debbie - Mountain Mama says
Super cute ideas – I think my faves are the throw and that Kate Spade bag – drooling!!
Lisa says
The Kate Spade bag had an additional discount on Cyber Monday so maybe it will come down in price again! A girl can dream 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Debbie! Hope you enjoy the holiday season!
Pam @ Simple Details says
Too funny – I almost put those boots on my list!!!! 🙂 I bought a pair last year and the first time I wore them I hadn’t even gotten out of the car and my feet were freezing, I took them back and never replaced them! I’m pretty sure these are my favs though. And, I need a new weekender bag ~ that KS is so adorable! And, I’m excited about the art, it may be perfect for my client, I haven’t had time to look for them. And, the wrap bracelet, so cute! Oh, someone left me a comment saying they bought the felted soap! 🙂 Needless to say, I loved your list!! `
Lisa says
I have heard so many good things about those boots Pam. They are supposed to be super warm and I love the furry edge on them. I heard they run small though FYI. Let’s be twins and ask Santa for them 🙂
Julie says
This list is SO good! I’m definitely needing the wrap bracelet and fur throw ? Thanks for the great tips!
Lisa says
I’d love that wrap bracelet too Julie. I always say, I don’t need anything, until I go onto Etsy and then I find all sorts of cute things I “need” 🙂
Eileen Paris says
Love all of the above! xoxoxo
Lisa says
I hope Santa brings you something fun Eileen! 🙂
Tara @ Lehman lane says
So many fun gift ideas Lisa! I think my favorites are the gold tassel necklace and the minted prints.
Lisa says
I have a similar rose gold tassel necklace to that one Tara, and I’ve been wearing it all the time. I love long necklaces to wear over sweaters this time of year! Thank you for coming by 🙂
Carol @ CAD INTERIORS says
I should just duplicate your list and send it off to my “Santa hubby”! 🙂 Felt soap?! So cool. I think I need those stockings asap.
Lisa says
The felt soap is so nice…..I bought one for myself. All natural and lathers nicely! Hope you are having a happy Christmas season Carol!
cindy hattersley says
What a great roundup Lisa! I could use that Cashmere cardi and that monogrammed weekend bag!!
Lisa says
Every girl needs a new cashmere cardi every single Christmas…..at least that’s what I tell my husband Cindy! 🙂
