Every Monday, the wonderful Kristin of Delightfully Dowling and I host this blog hop for anything food related and we invite you to join in the fun!!
So sorry to be late to the party today, but I had a little incident over the weekend and now I look something like this:
Well, I feel like Mike Wazowski anyway after a run in with some saw dust {remind me never to clean my garage again.} Who knew saw dust could wreak such havoc? The verdict after a visit to the ER:
Good times, good times.
So why I rest my eyeball, how about a couple of crazy-easy Halloween cupcake ideas? (And come to think of it, an eyeball would be an easy cupcake to pull off for this occasion!) These are repeat performances here on the blog - thank you for indulging me today!
These two ideas couldn't be easier and my kids love them. Hope you and yours will too!
The Mummy
These cupcakes are so insanely easy: bake cupcakes and lightly frost with white frosting. Fill a baggy with frosting and snip a corner so that you can make 1/4" wide stripes across the cupcakes. Press chocolate chops in between a layer of the mummy's gauze for eyes and voila!
Wrapped myself in toilet paper,
Head to toe to tummy,
Wrapped myself in toilet paper,
Thought that I’d be funny.
Wrapped myself in toilet paper,
Wrapped myself in toilet paper,
Thought they’d call me “Mummy.”
Wrapped myself in toilet paper,
They just call me dummy.

The Hairy Spider
Bake cupcakes and frost cupcakes (any color). Frost the top and sides of an Oreo with chocolate frosting and dip in chocolate sprinkles. I used mini M&Ms for eyes but you could also use tubes of gel frosting. Gel frosting also is great for the legs, or black string licorice is really cute too if you can find it. Creepy crawly!
Will you walk into my parlour?" said the Spider to the Fly,
"'Tis the prettiest little parlour that you ever did spy;
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I've a many curious things to show when you are there."
"Oh no, no," said the little Fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."

Link up a recipe, restaurant review, kitchen tip or anything culinarily-minded to this blog hop, and thank you for linking back to either Kristin at Delightfully Dowling or Shine Your Light!
Happy week ahead, friends!

Oh some of these recipes are calling my name :)
Ouch! I watch my pugs' lick each others eyeballs all the time and hear there's healing qualities in their saliva. Want me to ship them to ya? ha!
oh man i hope your poor eye is better soon! clearly domestic work is way too dangerous for you and me- i cut my leg open and you hurt your eye. no more cleaning for us.
i made mummy cupcakes like that once- they were easy and fun!
Sorry about your eye, Lisa! Hope you're up and around soon. I'd take that as an omen cleaning the garage should be left to others!:)
So sorry about your eye! That must have felt so bad. Another reason to avoid cleaning at all costs! Hope you're on the mend.

Hello Lisa...
I am so sorry to hear of your eye incident...
Hope you will be back to having both eyes functioning perfect again.
P.s. At least you don't have to put make-up on both eyes for a while... ( ;)
Hugs,
Sandy
Good Morning!
This week I shared another little-bother recipe - cinnamon swirl oat bread. So delicious with a smear of butter!

I also shared an article I wrote explaining how flour can go sour, and how grain bugs get into our food.

Have a great week!
