Hello friends! Are you still bouncing back after the long weekend too? We had my little nephew visiting from Florida and I’m just now getting back into the swing of things after fawning all over him for days on end.
On the search for sea glass at the Cape, filling his little pockets with ALL THE ROCKS to take home. 🙂 He is such a cutie pie and we all love him so much!
Last week I mentioned that these beauties were installed in the home of my client Linda, replacing two boob lights that weren’t bringing much to the space. What a difference pretty lighting makes!!
Choosing lighting for a foyer or even a small entryway is an opportunity to do something special. I always advise my clients to go with light fixtures that will stand the test of time because most of us are not going to be investing in new lighting and the installation of them very often. Something with a little flair, that won’t go out of style in a year and is reasonably priced is my mission for clients and for my own home.
While “reasonably priced” means something different to everyone (light fixtures can range from $10 basic lights to crystal lights that cost thousands upon thousands of dollars), I think you can easily have a beautiful foyer light for under $200.
For those of you who are searching for stylish flush mounts too, here are a few of my faves!

Lowes Quoizel Marqee | $69
(this reminds me of PB’s Bolton Lantern!)
Lowes Allen + Roth Eberline | $79
The flush light version of this PB knockoff light is new and this price is so great!
I have the semi-flush version in my foyer and wish this one was out when I was in the market for a light – I have to tell tall guests to watch their heads – exactly why a true flush mount light is necessary for low ceilings. I love mine even if it’s a little low for the space (but am thinking it would look really pretty in multiples over an island in our future kitchen!)
Carmel also used the pendant version of this light and gave it an antique silver finish with a little R&B, so pretty!
Pottery Barn Kids Iron Beaded Flushmount | $119
On sale right now – and a fraction of the cost of this lookalike at Layla Grace!
PB Teen Teardrop | $129
So pretty as is but can you imagine the base at the top painted gold?
Ballard Designs Mercury Glass Moravian Star | $179
The lights my client just had installed. The scale of them and the mercury glass is gorgeous!
Ballard Designs Brass Moravian Star | $179
I love this version too!
Pottery Barn Mia | $179
A classic beauty.
Ballard Designs Eva/Small | $189
Something a little different than all your neighbors.
Pottery Barn Kids Ruby Flushmount | $149
I can see this painted gold too. I called PBK to see if the crystals come already attached or not, but customer service wasn’t sure, so if you’re thinking of painting the body of this I would find out for sure first. That’s a lot of crystals to remove and then re-install but oh how pretty in antique brass! (Here’s my method on how to create an antique brass finish with paint, btw!!)
Joss & Main Jardin | $187.95
I love the old-school, delicate feel of this one…..
Joss & Main Sandra | $190.95
….and the modern touch that this light would bring an older home that needs a bit of updating.
Amazon Kathy Ireland French Garden | $199
One more, an ethereal beauty coming in right under two bills. There’s something about crystal and light, they are a match made in heaven!
I’ll share semi-flush mount lights under $200 soon for those of you who have a bit more space up above!
Have a great day friends!

I’m a fan of the Moravian star. All of these are great options though.

The Ballard Designs one caught my eye! Great round-up.

All great choices! I have always loved Ballard Design’s Eva but don’t have a place for it. That modern Joss and Main find is gorgeous too!

Such a great round-up of inexpensive options. We have low ceilings too so flush-mounts are necessary just about everywhere. I’m so cheap when it comes to light fixtures (well, everything actually), but those first two from Lowe;s have me thinking about our entryway now!

Great selections, Lisa! I still need to replace the boob lights in my upstairs hallway!
