Did you know that most nurseries and big box hardware stores have clearance racks for plants that are a bit disheveled? It would take a miracle (or a whole lotta Miracle Grow) for some of the clearance rack plants to survive, but often you can find diamonds in the rough, like this large geranium that was marked down from $22.99 to $11 because the hanger attached to it was broken, and it was kind of smushed on one side.
I didn’t care about the state of the pot since I was planning to transplant it anyway.
It was perfect for the urn on our front path.
Geraniums are great for continuous blooming throughout the summer.
Add bedragled clearance rack plants to your containers with other thriving plantings, give them some love and in no time they will be strong and healthy.

I love this tip because I got my Fiddle Leaf figs from such racks! This reminds me, I need to grab more for our patio, we made a huge change (literally), so I better spruce it up! Have a great day lisa!

Thanks for the tip! I would at least feel less bad if I killed them!

Beth took the words right out of my mouth – I won't buy super expensive plants because the likelihood of them surviving is pretty low. Love this tip because I'm more willing to spend $10-11 and give it a try!

Great idea, I'll confess I usually pass them up but your pretty geranium has me inspired to take a look! 🙂

Great tip. Especially on plants that tend to be more expensive.

I scored some serious deals on the clearance rack last year! Geraniums are great ones to snag because they are so hardy and perk right back up so quickly. Haven't found the same scores yet this year, but I always check! Great tip!

Wow…I always stop at the sale racks first in stores for clothes, so this is a great tip for plants.

i have a black thumb, so maybe i am taking less of a risk with these. 😉

Great tip Lisa! I love adding plants around my house but the cost can add up. I'll remember this!

The clearance rack at Lowe's is always the first place I look! Wish Home Depot did that too. Your urn looks beautiful!

great tip lisa! I will have to look at the clearance rack more often!

Great tip. My favorite Japanese Maple was a sad reject on clearance at the end of one season. It is so pretty now.
