Our house is 28 years old and the while the plumbing isn’t exactly ancient, it’s also not like a brand new house. In particular the kids’ bathroom sink, as well as the sink in our little master bathroom, takes forever to drain. If you have this problem too, before using toxic Drano or calling a plumber, try this all-natural way to unclog your sinks. This works well with a moderately clogged sink where the water slowly drains.
This trick doesn’t work every time, but it’s worth a try before resorting to more drastic measures (like cleaning out the pipes – gross – or calling a plumber – ouch.)
Baking soda is one of my favorite cleaning supplies….it’s effective and cheap! Check out how to clean silver jewelry and flatware, as well as how to clean a glass cooktop (and other baking soda cleaning ideas).
It’s one big baking soda party around here, I tell ya!!!
Next week I’ll be kicking off a series on kitchen renovating, featuring some real life kitchen makeovers. Hope you’ll join me!
Wishing you a little sunshine and springtime in the next few days! We’re still covered in the white stuff, but underneath, the earth is awaking, I just know it!

Do all my drains with this every month, and never have any trouble (or smells!). Sometimes the old ways are the best ways, and way cheaper!

With 5 bathrooms, we have constant plumbing problems. I'm going to try this on a few drains today. Thanks so much for the tip!

You have no idea how much I need this advice. My house is not old, and I have clogged drains #YouSuckContractor. Thanks, pinning this.

You have to be careful if you have an ac condensate line tied into your plumbing. I learned the hard bc it flipped off my ac in the attic bc that ‘foam’ backed up into the line. Oops.
