ShineKids:: Candy Sleigh

With the Christmas season in full force I think it's high time for a fun craft for the kiddos, don't you?

Hannah went to a Yankee Swap at her friend Natalie's house this weekend (which, by the way, used to be our house!!  How funny is that?)  Natalie is the nicest girl, and I'm so happy she and Hannah became friends.  This girl is a future blogger, people, watch out for this one!  She is crafty, crafty, crafty.  For her Yankee Swap party, she made these adorable candy sleighs as party favors.

I'm sure they're out there on Pinterest but I've never seen them before and think they're adorable!

How to make it is pretty self-explanatory - use a big wrapped candy as the base over two candy canes (the Kit Kat is perfect because it's wide) and then stack smaller candies in layers.  Double sided tape between the layers would make keeping the bundle together easier when you tie it up with ribbon.

We have an annual tradition of making gingerbread houses with our friends and I'm looking forward to making these with my kids as favors.  Thanks to Natalie for this fun idea!

I'm sharing this quick and easy craft at these wonderful blogs!

So cute and yummy to boot! Is a Yankee Swap like a white elephant gift exchange? Explain to the southerners, please. Ha!
