Hi friends!
Last week's rattan chair painting debacle got me thinking. Despite the fact that they are pretty beat up after over a decade with this crazy family, I DO like their warm tone. I've been analyzing spaces in my house and in inspiration photos that have warm browns, and maybe it's the time of year, but I am feeling warm browns…..especially when paired with cool tones.
For example…..
warm brown, white, and cool grey.

i am a huge fan of this look, too as evidenced by my dining room, master, and guest room! the combination of cool and warm is relaxing and inviting.

Yes! Mixing makes a room happy in my opinion. I've always loved, loved the octopus image. It'd just wouldn't be the same without the brown chest of drawers.
I love the top image and the bottom image. I NEVER would have expected to like the first one, but then the wood gives it a whole new warm dimension!

Yes! This look is so pretty! My mom has fairly dark stained kitchen cabinets and is re-doing everything else, but the stained wood is staying. Think I'll forward your post on to her...beautiful examples!

This is my favorite combo (pairing warm and cool colors together). That navy color sure is growing on me! Can't wait to see what you do.

I swear we share a brain. I swear. I have been really pondering on this lately-- and I see zero problem with the navy and the wood, but. . .
gray walls and warm things with them. Like warm carpet/rugs/hardwood? it confuses me. But everyone's doing it, right?
