We've got Olympic fever over here - how about you?
Our cousins in Ireland got to go to some of the basketball events and by sheer luck of the draw, saw USA play, and sang the national anthem for their American family glued to the TV 3,000 miles away. Searching for them in the stands was a sport in and of itself.
{photo shamelessly stolen from my cousin :)}
While Olympic athletes are competing for the gold, my beautiful little niece Sophia is working toward her own goal. Sophia turned 8 yesterday and in lieu of celebrating her birthday she is campaigning for Charity:Water for the second year in a row. Sophia raised over $1000 last year and we are so proud of her for doing this again!! She made this 19 second video about her pledge:
Have you heard of Charity: Water? Charity: Water is a non-profit charitable organization that brings clean, safe drinking water to developing countries. 100% of public donations directly fund water projects. Read more about it here. Would you consider helping Sophia to reach her goal?
A bit of fun from around our hood this week:
we whipped up a batch of homemade peanut butter just for kicks. We usually eat Teddy all natural (no sugar added) peanut butter so this honey roasted peanut version is like a dessert - so sweet and delish! It wasn't exactly economical considering this can of peanuts is comparable in price to a jar of Teddy and only yielded half a jar of peanut butter - but it was interesting to try. I'm definitely going to give it a try with unsweetened peanuts or maybe try an almond butter!
Mark and I had an impromptu dinner with some of my college friends who we never get to see. I'm still laughing!
Seanie got buzzed…..
….and then I went after the dog! After 30 minutes of buzzing him while he nervously sat, lied down, stood up, sat down again…..he's still a complete furball, and now Mark says he looks like a mangy mutt with patches of fur shorn off here and there. So I don't have a future as a dog groomer….This weekend we are headed up to Lake Winnipesaukee again for our 10th annual weekend with our friends that are like family. I hope you're enjoying your summer and squeezing some fun in too!
Link up your summer adventures and amusements and have a happy weekend my friends!

Thank goodness your son didn't end up looking like a complete furball. One out of two isn't such a bad record! Enjoy your weekend, friend.
Oh, that sweet pb would be a hit at my house! Sweet photo with your freshly buzzed boy and Sophia is a gem! :)
Looks like you all are having lots of fun this summer! We only have 2 weeks left. Aren't boys' buzzed heads the best? My little girl can't keep her hands off of her brother's head after a fresh cut. :)
Such an adorable
family, including
your fur baby : ) !!
So glad that you
are soaking up all
of the goodness of
summer, Lisa!
