Hi lovelies! How's your summer going?
I'm on a mission to capture moments big and small 'round here…..
the jungle of Rose of Sharons and Lace Hydrangea outside our dining room and living room windows...
iPhone action shots at the pool….
my beautiful mama's birthday with the girls….
loud and fabulous riot of color…..
celebrating the new Maine beach cottage my oldest friend in the world, Chris, and her hubby just bought:
the maiden voyage with mom to our local Habitat for Humanity ReStore (West Roxbury, Ma)….
{if this fabulous mounted nautical map was of Cape Cod instead of Cape Ann I would have snatched it up in a heartbeat!}
football five nights a week….
cute little kiddos in football uniforms and gorgeous fields of yellow and purple….
….couldn't be prettier.
and the highlight of the week was taking Sean and his friend to Old Sturbridge Village
to spend the day with none other than the beautiful Cassie and her big-blue-eyed cherubs!
Seriously - this girl is the real deal, just like on her blog - genuine, such a great mama, and SO pretty in real life!! I LOVED meeting her in person - and her kiddos Emmy & Sawyer have the cutest little personalities!
Thanks for a fun day, Cassie, Sandie, Emmy & Sawyer!

This summer is flying by and taking a few moments each week to reflect on the good things reminds me how blessed we are.
Life is NEVER going to be perfect, right? There will always be hardships and unpleasantries - it's part of reality.
We have three kids to parent as they head into the tumultuous teen years.
Mark and I have debts to pay and things to figure out.
My car needs new brakes and the deck is infested with carpenter ants.
The laundry never ends and the toilets need cleaning.
I want to go back to school. I need a paying job.
But still, how my cup overflows.
I couldn't ask for more this summer - my three kiddos are healthy and busy,
my mother and my parents-in-law are all active and strong,
my husband found a job.
Oh thank you Lord, my husband found a job.
I have friendships old and new that bring joy and laughter to my life,
my weed-laden garden is bursting with blossoms,
and even my big stinky dog makes us all laugh amidst his shedding and drooling.
What kind of big and little moments have you enjoyed this sweet week of summer?
I want to hear about them!

So cool that you and Cassie got to hang out! Wish I could transport some of your gorgeous flowers to my back yard...greatness. Can't believe summer is wrapping up already. I'm glad yours has been a good one, friend.
So true, Lisa! We all have so much to be thankful for. Still, I'm jealous of how fun your summer has been. I didn't get to do half the things I'd planned to do this summer. Luckily there's still some time left to squeeze in a few beach days.
What a fun week you had! I agree, we all do have so much to be thankful for! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for hosting!

What a beautiful post. You capture some great pics...love the view from your window. Drink in every last drop before school starts. You are so crafty/talented....how about an Etsy shop....or a carpenter's helper?
What a great recap! And what a wonderful summer you have had with your gorgeous family. Can it really be over?

I couldn't love your grateful attitude more! You've savored your summer days with friends and family to the max, what wonderful memories for all of you!
Hi! Just found your blog through Primitive and Proper. I live in Massachusetts and the layout of my house seems to be almost identical to yours! We're thinking of bringing down the wall between kitchen and dining room too, but need to find a spot for our stove, which is actually right where yours is! Anywho, excited to follow you!
OMG, the picture in the pool is amazing!
Glad you are blessed with so many roses :)
Best.
Hey, I live on Cape Ann ;p
I really love this post, Lisa! It makes me wanna hug someone.
