March Before Party!

Can you believe it's already time to lay down some goals for the month of March?

The Before and After Parties over here are all about proclaiming to the world a project you need the motivation to get started on, and then go at it in the month ahead!  Any kind of goal is welcome - work on getting a business off the ground like Suzanne, learn how to restore a piece of furniture like Sarah, or organize & beautify a closet like I did.  How about a weight loss goal, a commitment to yourself to work out, or knock something off the house to-do list?  Share your "before" here today, and come on back at the end of the month to tell us how you did.  The project doesn't have to be complete by then - but hopefully having the After Party date in mind (3/30!) will light a fire under you to stay on track!

You know I got waaaay off track last month when I pledged to work on making our master bedroom a peaceful haven (after a year and half of living here, it still looks like we just unpacked the boxes) but ended up working on my dining room instead.  Even though I didn't accomplish the goal I set out to, I still feel good about February.  I'm slowly but surely turning our newest house into a home that we love.

This month my goal is a little different - it's a plan of attack on my mom's house.
3 of my all time favorite chicks:  Hannah, my niece Angela, Mom.  Looking at this picture makes me want to give them all a big squish!  I adore them.

I'm the girl of good intentions who wants to help my family and besties with various home projects, because I love them and have the ability to help them.  But managing my time isn't exactly my strong suite.

My mom has been wanting to sell her house and downsize into a condo or apartment for a long time, and I keep telling her I will get her house ready to go on the market.  I've told her this for 6 months.  And now with the spring real estate market right around the corner, it's time to put my own home projects on the backburner and make her house shine.  I'll still be sharing some home, crafty and foodie fun over here but the world isn't going to come to an end if my dining room stays in it's vanilla state until April, or the curtains aren't hung in my bedroom yet, right?

What about you, my friends?  Do you have a plan for the month ahead?  You have four whole weeks this month to accomplish your mission - the March After Party isn't until Friday, March 30.  Share your ideas and let's get this party started!

Lisa, a while back you visited my blog and asked me if I would link a project up. I haven't until now because I didn't feel as if I had anything worthy enough yet to post. I just linked up 2 projects but as I read more about your party, I don't think these links are what you are looking for. You can delete them if you would like, I won't be offended, lol. I'll try to get something else up because god knows I have lots to do around here in this house we just moved into.

Thanks for the visit and for the invite to the party. I'm all linked up with my before photo. Hopefully next week I can reveal the after. Have a great weekend.

This is such a good idea! My family moved into our house one and a half years ago and there is still so much to do, so many things in the house that haven't been finished. I just cannot decide which project to tackle this month. I will make up my mind and come back soon to link my March project. Thanks for this brilliant blog!!!

Lisa, you are such a sweet and kind daughter to help your mom get her home ready for sale. It feels so good to be able to help family members and friends. I think you've already made a ton of progress on your dining room. I bet you might even sneak in a project here and there are your own house as well. I love your new blog header...so spring-y! Bring on the warm weather and flowers!

I've just become your most recent follower. I too, added a pic to your linky, then, when I reread, saw that it should be a 'before' pic ONLY. So, feel free to delete mine as well. I'll have to work on this project.
Hey, come visit me and maybe you'll follow back......at PICKINandPAINTIN.blogspot.com
THANKS.

Lisa,
Ah how sweet that you can use your skills and awesomeness to help out your mom. Looking forward to some great blog posts this month and seeing the progress you make on your mom's home. I think you will still be able to get some stuff done in your own home as well, you might be surprised!

Okay...this is the second time? Third time that I've posted the before of my guest bath? This month I'll definitely have an "after" to share at the end of the month on Shine Your Light :)
